特に指定はございません。 給油所の指定はございませんが、当社事務所の5km圏内での給油をお願いしております。
また、近隣の格安ガソリンスタンドのご紹介や割引カードのお渡しも可能ですので、ご出発前にぜひお声がけください。

Am I eligible to drive a car in Japan?

Eligibility to Drive in Japan If you have an International Driving Permit (IDP) issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention on Road Traffic, you are permitted to drive a car in Japan, subject to Japanese laws and regulations.

  • You can drive with an IDP for up to one year from the date of entry into Japan. (If you leave Japan and re-enter, the period restarts from the date of re-entry.)
  • Important Note for Residents: If you are registered as a resident in Japan, different conditions apply. Please contact the local driver's license center for detailed information.
  • f more than one year has passed since your entry, your IDP is no longer valid for driving in Japan. For long-term stays, we recommend converting to a Japanese driver's license.

Countries/Regions Adopting the 1949 Geneva Convention: (List of countries/regions remains the same) As of September 14, 2021.

Driving with a Foreign License and Japanese Translation f your driver's license was issued in Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Monaco, or Taiwan, you can drive in Japan by carrying the original license AND a Japanese translation of that license.

  • You must always carry both the original license and the Japanese translation while driving in Japan.
  • You can drive with these documents for up to one year from the date of entry into Japan. (The period restarts upon re-entry.)
  • Important Note for Residents: If you are registered in the Basic Resident Register and your stay abroad was less than three months before re-entry, different rules apply. Please consult your local driver's license center for details.
  • The police may ask to see your passport to confirm your date of entry.
  • If one year has passed since your entry, you are no longer permitted to drive, even with the Japanese translation. If you plan to stay in Japan for an extended period, we advise you to convert your license to a Japanese driver's license. The Japanese translation can also be used for this conversion procedure. Please contact your local driver's license center for conversion details.
